CultureHub and La MaMa present the 21st edition of Downtown Variety, bringing La MaMa’s 1960s café aesthetic to a virtual platform, linking artists and audiences in real time across distance. In this edition, past Downtown Variety performers team up with creative technologists, producers, and writers to explore rituals for our time in a hybrid medium.

For the first time ever, a small audience will be welcomed into the CultureHub New York studio to watch Downtown Variety: Take 21. Tickets are extremely limited and must be reserved in advance. All audience members joining us in person must be fully vaccinated and wear a mask. If you cannot afford a ticket at this time, please email info@culturehub.org and CultureHub will arrange a free ticket.

To watch the livestream from home, you must RSVP for free or with a donation to receive a custom streaming link.

Downtown Variety is presented within La MaMa and CultureHub’s Experiments in Digital Storytelling Program. Downtown Variety is powered by LiveLab, a browser-based media-router for collaborative performance developed by CultureHub.
