Blips of the Pluriverse—Prototyping a Virtual Cosmology Toolkit is a 2.5 hour remote workshop hosted by Jessy Escobedo, Lilyan Kris and Selwa Sweidan in which we build an emotional toolkit by mapping “personal cosmologies” (i.e. worldviews or mental models) to radically liberate (or ground) ourselves within our current socio-emotional context. Through solo and collaborative activities, we will cultivate an open and safe space to pause and reflect on ways we can re-examine our relationship with the world using the framework of Arturo Escobar’s Pluriverse.
Beginning with a brief group meditation exercise to ground ourselves, we’ll move into solo reflection on our personal cosmologies. We’ll then break into smaller groups and process how our cosmologies have recently shifted or may continue to shift through collaborative brainstorming, drawing, video recording, and other modes of representation. The workshop will close with an open-ended group discussion where we share our takeaways and concluding thoughts.
This toolkit offers timely entry-points for self-reflection, embracing the spiritual and techno-spiritual, inclusive of our past, present, and future narratives. We hope you’ll join us! This workshop will take place on Zoom and accommodate 10-15 participants. Register for the workshop by clicking the button below. Once you register, you will receive a confirmation with a link to the Zoom meeting room.
