Germono Toussaint is an accomplished composer, playwright, and producer. He is one of the founding members of the The Fire This Time Festival and the Founding Artistic Director of A Mile In My Shoes, Inc. With a prolific career spanning two decades, Toussaint has written and produced music for various independent artists, theatrical productions, and concerts. His artistic journey has led to developmental opportunities at Tofte Lake Center, The Sheen Center, Rhymes Over Beats, The Tank, Hi-Arts, Musical Theatre Factory, and the Obsidian Theater Festival. He's also a recipient of the Dr. Kenny Encouragement Fund Scholarship from Broadway's Ken Davenport.

Thirteen years ago I was introduced me to the writings of West African Shaman Malidoma Somé, and the concept of the Gatekeepers—Queer/Same-Gender-Loving (SGL) individuals entrusted with balancing the physical and spiritual realms. This sowed the seeds for my XR-enhanced, Afro-futurist, post-apocalyptic, Queer/SGL musical The Last Gatekeeper. The musical addresses the complexity of the African American SGL experience, while weaving in the transformative power of the supernatural.

My hope is that The Last Gatekeeper act as a mirror for the African American, Queer/SGL community, showing them their relevance, beauty, power, and magic.
